The Community of Care Network is a group of trained, committed community volunteers who collaborate with social service providers to support our neighbors who are newly housed. The concept for this framework is simple: when we share lived experiences and learn about diverse lifestyles through active friendships with neighbors we become a stronger, more interconnected community!
Summer Meals for Kids is a partnership with Williamsburg Area Meals on Wheels and FISH providing daily meals for 200 homeless and low-income children at various locations across Greater Williamsburg. Currently there are approximately 250 children experiencing homelessness in the WJCC School System and over 4,000 who receive free and reduced-price meals due to the low income levels of their families. Since 2018, the Summer Meals for Kids program has provided food for children and their siblings who do not have access to these meals during the summer. A related program is currently underway to provide weekly hot meals to families living in area motels.
Partners
In our community there are many families with children living in motels, without access to kitchens. In partnership with FISH and From His Hands, this program distributes the resources to prepare nutritious meals, providing each participating family with a CrockPot and basic kitchen utensils. Every other week, volunteers use provided recipes to assemble ingredients and additional items for two nutritious meals, and deliver them to these families.

The Campus Food Pantry is a confidential program for W&M students, staff, faculty and dependent family members with food insecurities. It supplies nonperishable foods and household products when school is in session. Please consider helping them keep their shelves stocked.
