Local Resources
Williamsburg House of Mercy is our area’s only complete care center for the homeless. Dedicated and trained, staff and volunteers work daily to meet the needs of the homeless and struggling in our community through financial assistance, permanent housing assistance, access to medical care and mental health services, food, transportation, and so much more.
Williamsburg Human Services provides a broad array of human service programs for city residents who have financial, social, educational, health, and emotional needs. The department serves on the front line of intervention, assessment, service provision, and/or referral to appropriate agencies and organizations in the Williamsburg area.
Community of Faith Mission is the only emergency winter shelter program serving homeless men, women and families in the Greater Williamsburg Area. They are a collaboration of more than 30 faith-based congregations, a dozen community partners, and thousands of volunteers offering help and hope to the area’s most vulnerable citizens.
Social Services programs are intended to help people to help themselves by temporarily assisting residents in meeting their basic needs, including food, shelter, utilities and medical care and through employment. Additionally, we provide services focused on protecting children, the disabled and the elderly from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
